People are such funny creatures with weird mindsets. Most of us, we spend a whole lifetime, doing things perceived to be normal, doing things that are mundane. We spend more than half of our lives, studying, trying to achieve those much sought after A1s, those certificates, degrees, just to secure our stand in the society.
People of our generation spend a long and tiring 20odd years trying hard to get a degree, just to secure a high ranking post in some oh-so famous company , or just to attain the requirements for their dream jobs.
And guess what? After the much tiring yet exhilarating process of mugging for 20damned years to get ur job, u're not about to rest and shake legs. In fact, ur journey towards life has just started.
So when on earth do you even get to stop working, stop pursuing? Seriously there's no answer. When you were a toddler, u begin studying to get into primary school . Then, you begin to work hard for PSLE to get into the secondary school u've been wanting to get into and you work ur butt off for O level's to get that certificate, and to get into ur dream JC which u will then again, work ur stupid butt , or what's left of it, off, to get into some prestigious uni pray hard you'll graduate with no hiccups. And if you're some godsend genius, you probably would.Alas, just as you thought that u could cut urself some slack, u realise, u've only begun to relish ur dreams. Then, you work hard, for that paycheck, for that passion for the job , for whatsoever reasons. But, when do you stop? When you're some 50year old matured adult? Or worst, till u're 60, 70?
My point is. We work so hard, so so hard to get to where we get to. But truth is, when do we get to reap what we sowed? When do we get to truly enjoy a cup of coffee without having to worry about the piling schoolwork, or, the extreme workload when we go into the society? When we're 60? And guess what? After 60damned years of efforts building up ur career and what not, the time u've left to spend is 20, 30years? That's damn sad like seriously.
So people, while we're still somewhat a vibrant youth, still energetic and what not, enjoy life. Enjoy your friends, your life, your hobbies. Do what you want, besides being 100% committed to building your career, studying , all the stuff we're expected to do. Be yourself. Do what you want, don't wait, till u've been reduced to nothing but a bunch of brittle old bones, till ur joints hurts when the weather changes. Do what you want, while u've got that ability to be able to be on your feet without much pain, and run and jump and not faint.
